United Way of White County launches White County COVID-19 Relief Fund
Fund will support direct service providers on the front lines of the pandemic
The United Way of White county has created the White County COVID-19 Relief Fund to address the unmet needs of those impacted by this current crisis. This fund will help ensure resources are available to assist our local nonprofits who are serving the residents of White County during this unprecedented crisis.
One-time micro grants will help fund frontline human services organizations that have deep roots in White County and strong experience working with vulnerable populations. These micro grants will help meet basic needs and help increase resiliency in our affected community.
A committee containing United Way of White County Board Members and it’s Executive Director will administer the micro grants from the Fund. Micro grant applications need to be received on Thursday of each week to be considered for the Friday review and assessment. Funds will be released on the following Monday on a weekly basis as fundraising continues throughout this economic and health crisis or until funds are exhausted.
United Way of White County has a long history of supporting those in our community while encouraging our residents to care for one another. After this crisis ends, UWWC will be here for the long road ahead. We are committed to continuing to support our community as we face this new crisis together. This fund will help us ensure we are able to offer immediate assistance to our community.

Q: My organization is interested in resources from this fund. Can we be considered?
A: Any 501(c)3 non-profit organization operating in White County is eligible to apply and potentially receive resources from this Fund.
Q: When will you share who receives funds?
A: We anticipate the first distribution of micro grant funds will take place beginning April 6th, 2020. We will publish a list of grants on our website and announce them on social media.
Q: How can I donate?
A: You can donate on our website as by check. Please designate White County COVID-19 Relief Fund in your online giving or if giving by check in the memo line.

Q: Is there a fee to donate?
A: No. United Way of White County will not charge any processing fees on gifts to the Fund.
Q: I want to donate. Can I restrict my gift to a specific organization?
A: To ensure we move resources as efficiently as possible and respond to the needs of those most impacted, the Fund is not considering restricted donations at this time.
